Dear John,
it's so nice to read your blog and look at the beautiful photos.
Came accross it via Next Step Integral - am thinking to come to Mount Madonna Center in August...
I really like your idea about examining our eating habits and investigating where the food we eat actually comes from. It's an excellent idea to make studnets feel, see and understand the way we are linked to everything.
I'm currently teaching my year 12 students (17-18 years old)in geography about agriculture and sustanability. I'm teaching at a German High School - and they are the first course interested in these questions. I might try your idea as well - will probably modify it a little bit - as I only see them once a week.
Spring is slowly arriving here in southern Germany with typical showers, drizzles, short periods of sunshine but very enjoyable.
Enjoy the Easter Break - if there is any at your place,
cheers,
Claudia, Freiburg, Germany

I am amazed at how much I have been impacted by the week at Whidbey. I come back to my daily life with new energy, purpose and grounding. Images from the week infuse my dreams. Last night, I dreamed of John Kestler's presentations in a powerful manner that provides me insights into how this might be introduced into my daily teaching practices. I am in connection with each of you. Thank you for educating me.

The rain falling outside nuturing the flora and fauna on North Florida feeds my soul as I reflect with gratitude on the opportunities I have been given in working with the exceptional people who select to be teachers. Your words remind me of how fortunate life is. Thank you.

Thank you for the reminder to look for the places of gratitude in my work. I am grateful for the opportunity to work intimately with a small number of students as we all strive to create transformative experiences through which others can grow.

This semester I have been working with doctoral students as they supervise prospective teachers through their internship. I will share your wisdom with them about teaching in the present moment. With all the tensions and requirements these individuals are facing, remembering to teach in the moment is a wise reminder of what it means to be an accomplished teacher.

Hi John,

I am reading this at the time of the year when I am picking and eating raspberries, enjoying all the fruits of the season. Thank you for reminding me that no matter what agendas conversations start with, the outcome that I most value is not necessarily the moments of insight, clarity or deepening understanding (of ideas) but rather the deepening relationship with myself and others... it is the integration of knowing and being in the space of the heart... :)

Bye for now,

Sue

John:

Your reflections are inspirational and resonate with my deeper self. The joy and responsibility of teaching is a reminder to focus on a deeper awareness of the interactions I have with students. Thank you.
